Week 1 and 2 have been a success with a lot of written work derived from interesting discussion about the craft of authorial choices. How does an author and illustrator choose the right colouration for the few pages they have to tell an epic story?



How does story paneling make you think about the flow of the narrative?


Can't draw? Don't worry about it. We will not be doing any drawing as this is a poetry workshop. We will be using pre-existing graphic novels to help us invent poetic narratives.


How do graphic novels have such great poetic storytelling potency?

Join me for WEEK 3 of this 6-week workshop program that will introduce you to the art of freeze-framed moments in time and write new work that will surprise you.




In Week 3 we will be looking into "Poetic Flash Forms For Micro-Narratives".


Take a sideways look at classic poetry forms and challenge your poetic voice for storytelling.


Learn about how concise flash fiction, and carefully chosen words can  yields quick and impactful stories.


In WEEK 4, we will be discussing books that have inspired this course and creating our own 3 story panel poems.

The full course is hosted on Poets Built It Online Community It requires you to fill in a community safeguarding form and then you will be create n account to have access to all course materials.
